Frequently Asked Questions

How long is the day?

Roughly 19 hours door to door — pickup at 00:15 AM, back in Surabaya around 07:30 PM. It’s a full day, but you cover two of East Java’s most spectacular sights.

How difficult is the Tumpak Sewu descent?

The path to the canyon floor is steep and can be slippery, with bamboo stairs and handrails. Decent fitness and grippy, waterproof shoes are strongly recommended — you can also enjoy the falls from the panoramic viewpoint instead.

Can the descent be skipped?

Yes — this is a private tour, so if you prefer, you can stay at the viewpoint and enjoy the panorama while others go down.
