Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know before you escape.
Is Escapenesia a legitimate tour operator?+
Yes. Escapenesia is a licensed, government-registered Indonesian tour operator (business license NIB 202501051457243267091) based in Sidoarjo, East Java — our full address is published on this site. We operate our tours ourselves; we are not a reseller. You can verify our guests' experiences independently on our TripAdvisor profile, and every itinerary and per-person price is published openly on each tour page.
Do I have to pay anything before my tour is confirmed?+
No. Inquiring costs nothing and commits you to nothing. We first confirm your dates, itinerary, and exact total price in writing on WhatsApp. Payment is by bank transfer or cash, arranged in the same chat — we will never ask you to pay through this website or any payment portal.
Why book direct instead of through Viator, GetYourGuide, or Klook?+
Online travel marketplaces charge operators commissions that are typically 20–30% of the tour price, and their customer service is a call center that has never been to Bromo. Booking direct means you talk to the local team that actually runs your tour, can customize every detail, and the price you see is the operator price — with no marketplace commission built in.
What kind of tours does Escapenesia offer?+
We run private tours all over Indonesia, with a specialty in East Java: Mount Bromo, the Ijen crater, Tumpak Sewu and Madakaripura waterfalls, Sukamade beach, Surabaya, and Yogyakarta. Every tour is private — just your group, your guide, and your driver.
Can I customize the itinerary?+
Absolutely. Every itinerary can be adjusted: route, pace, hotels, dietary needs, and start/end points. Tell us what you have in mind on WhatsApp and we will tailor the trip to you.
What's included in a tour package?+
Typically: private round-trip transfers in a comfortable air-conditioned vehicle, an English-speaking local guide, entrance fees, mineral water, and — on overnight trips — accommodation with breakfast. Each tour page lists exactly what is included and excluded.
How do I book and pay?+
Message us on WhatsApp or send an inquiry through the contact form. We confirm availability, agree the itinerary and price, and share payment instructions. No online payment is taken on this website.
Do I need travel insurance?+
Travel insurance is not required, but it is highly recommended — especially for volcano trekking and adventure activities.
Is the Ijen blue fire trek safe? How hard is it?+
Yes, with a guide. The trek to the Ijen crater takes about 1.5 hours on a well-established path. A moderate fitness level is enough. We provide gas masks for the crater area and our guides monitor conditions closely.
Can you pick me up from the airport, hotel, or harbour?+
Yes. We pick up from Surabaya airport, train stations, hotels, and other locations by arrangement — and we can drop you at Ketapang Harbour if you are continuing to Bali.
Can I leave my luggage in the car during treks?+
Yes, luggage can stay safely in the vehicle with your driver. We recommend keeping valuables with you.
